Bosque tours

HIKING - We have several trails, with a difficulty level ranging from easy to very advanced. We love self-guided hikers, and also offer a number of hiking tours:

Early Morning Birding & Monkey Tour - early morning from 6:00 until 7:30, several species of birds, monkeys, etc. all found on Bosque grounds.

Primary Forest Experience - 8 am every day with our resident biologist, Philip, a great opportunity to see and learn about biodiversity in the rainforest.

Afternoon Birding Experience in the Garden - Bosque has tropical gardens which are an excellent spot to find many species of birds as they prepare for nightfall. From 3:00 until 4:30.

Sunset Tour - 6 am every night with Philip, our resident biologist, see snakes, frogs, spiders, bats and lizards.

SURFING - we are near the excellent surfing beaches of Matapalo, and can arrange surf lessons as well as surfboard rentals.

DOLPHIN WATCHING - boat tours of the Golfo Dulce, often seeing two species of dolphins.

WATERFALL RAPPELLING - two beginner waterfalls to prepare you for a huge waterfall.

SNORKELING & SCUBA DIVING - Isla del Caño, Bosque can arrange a boat tour out to Isla del Caño for those who wish to snorkel or scuba dive.

OSA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY - located on the other side of the Gulf, often done as a combination tour with dolphin watching and snorkeling. Get to see animals up close and interact with them, also learn about the great efforts that Carol Crews and her husband have put in to get the animal sanctuary up and running.

CASA ORQUIDEAS BOTANICAL GARDENS - one of the oldest and most spectacular botanical gardens in the Golfo Dulce region.

RIO ESQUINAS BOAT TOUR - great opportunity to see birds and wildlife, explore miles of the Gulf and it's lush coastline, deltas and mangrove estuaries.

KAYAKING - both sea kayaking and kayaking through mangroves.

TREE CLIMBING - roped in, a 70 foot ascent up a huge tree. After exploring, there is a free-fall swing that brings you safely back down to Earth.

HORSEBACK RIDING - through beautiful rainforest, up wide rivers, and onto a gorgeous and deserted beach.

TREE PLATFORM - zip lines and canopy tour with our resident biologist, Philip.

SPA & MASSAGE - resident body worker, Jutta, is able to soothe and relax in our rainforest studio.
